Barriers, temporary fencing & fence mesh for Manly development

The Project

Dynamic Projects is constructing a multi-level apartment building at a desirable beachside address in Manly. A boutique residential apartment building consisting of 11 high-end residences, this development is located at the main thoroughfare linking the harbour to the sea in Manly, NSW.

Situated at the beachside end of busy Victoria Avenue, access for equipment and concrete pouring needed to be managed in a very tight area. With concrete pumping operations extending into the street, the Project Managers required a pedestrian safety barrier solution that could be moved around the site easily.

Additionally, the whole site needed to be fenced off for security, privacy and debris control, so a strong yet lightweight temporary perimeter fence was needed.

The Solution

To provide security around the perimeter, Dynamic Projects used Fortress Fencing 2000 Series temporary fence panels. Additionally, Trafix water filled barriers with anti-gawk screens were used in multiple locations, blocking off various areas throughout the build and demarcating traffic hazards during concrete pumping operations.

Fortress Fencing supplied 85 metres of Fortress Fencing 3000 Series temporary fence panels which were used to line the perimeter. Additionally, 14 metres of Trafix water filled barriers were used as a moveable solution to surround the site office and protect workers whilst the ground floor transfer slab was being poured.

Water Filled Barriers

The Trafix 2000 water filled barrier is simple and lightweight to install when empty, weighing just 20kg before filling. After installation and once filled with water, each barrier weighs 200kg, providing a significantly stable and secure water filled barrier. A simple interlocking pin system is moulded into each barrier module, and built-in handles help with the interlocking process and make it easy to move the empty unit. Made from eco-friendly recyclable polyethylene, each barrier module is 2 metres long and is ideal for cordoning off no-go zones, drop-offs and pits on work sites.
For this project, the Trafix barriers were supplied with mesh anti-gawk screen attachments, which helped to provide extra protection around the site.

Temporary Fencing

The 3000 Series temporary fence panels are strong and durable, yet lightweight and easy to install. Featuring anti-climb mesh for added security, each panel measures 2.1 metres high and the quick install process provides immediate security. Perfect for all types of construction projects, the Fortress Fencing 3000 Series temporary fence panels are constructed to meet Australian Standard AS4687.

Printed Fence Fabric

Plus, in addition to the temporary fencing and barriers, Fortress Fencing supplied Dynamic Projects with 50 metres of premium printed fence fabric to promote their brand and help screen the site. This was particularly necessary along a neighbouring laneway. Fortress Fencing’s premium fence fabric has a tight weave allowing for excellent reproduction of graphics and colours, whilst still allowing air to pass through.

It helps suppress dust and dirt from drifting into nearby residential areas and increases privacy on site. Dynamic Projects chose a simple yet bold representation of their logo and tag line for their fence fabric.
